Not a new year's resolution but something I will do more of in the new year I hope!!!!!!!

I don’t care what you say, I don’t do New Years resolutions. (Does that need an apostrophe?) I’m the kind of girl that when I want to try something, I’ll just do it. I hate labels. Just kidding that’s dramatic. ANYWAY, as of the last few months I have been toying with the idea of buying some new toys for my kitchen. At that point the only small appliances I had were a microwave (does that count?), a popcorn maker, kettle (does that count?), and randomly a cotton candy machine… don’t ask but shout out to my brother for fun Hanukkah gifts, including most recently a huge framed copy of this...

HOW BEAUTIFUL AM I ?!??

A few months ago I decided to start eating better and this was going to go hand in hand with starting to prepare my own food more often. Once again… NOT a new year’s resolution!! So I decided to go ahead and buy myself (with gift card moneys) a 7-cup Kitchenaid food processor. I did a bit of research, and at the same time there was a recall on the Cuisinart, so that made my decision easier! Link to the one I bought… it was $130 when I purchased it and obviously 2 weeks earlier on sale for $120 so if you are looking, wait till it gets back down to those prices. You’re welcome.

HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THAT?????

So I got my lovely new kitchen toy and then Hanukkah surprise, I was gifted an immersion blender! (I'm 80% sure that is the one i have). This was the other toy on my list of things I wanted to buy so I could start making my own soup! Such a wonderful gift and I was so excited to use it!! Link to blender…. That’s the one I got. So cuuuute. So I got my new toys and decided that I am 25 I can start trying to cook more and stuff! i found a way to print all of the recipes I has ever sent to myself (it was well over 100). OKAY YOU CAUGHT ME I LIED. I am 26.

My recipe repertoire previously consisted of two very complex dessert recipes: peanut butter cookies (1 egg, 1 cup of PB and 1 cup of sugar... okay you caught me it's the one from the side of the peanut butter container), and a banana bread recipe found online. Now I have this list of over 100 recipes to try, but the problem is a lot of them had no comments and so I had no idea if they would turn out well! So that is where this idea came in to bring my blog back.

So far I’ve used my food processor twice. The first time I made cauliflower rice, which I just threw in the processor then sauteed with a bit of oil, salt and pepper. It turned out quite well, and was very yum with my eggs for breakfast on day 2! I also made cookies from one of my recipes, ..Yes Avocado Banana Chocolate cookies

MAYBE IF I CONTINUE WITH THIS IDEA I WILL TAKE MORE ARTSY PICTURES LIKE THIS ONE

They were very easy to make and tasted quite good. I could definitely taste the avocado in it so don’t let people tell you they couldn’t. they were extremely soft and more ‘cakey’ then ‘cookie’ but still had the chocolatey flavor that I was desperately needing. I guess I don’t really recommend the recipe, just because of the texture but they were very tasty. Me not recommending it simply means that I don’t think I would make them again. Because I’m boss at my house.

So now I’ll call out to my friends, family and others, do you have a recipe that you’ve been wanting to try but want a guinea pig to test it out first? Send me reasonable recipes and I’ll do my best at following them and then I will give you a sassy and classy breakdown of how it went and tastes. If I remember I will take pictures to include in my blog..

Okay that is all for now my sweet sassy friends! Bye byeee

ADDED NOTE: When I spell check this entry on the blogger website, it doesn't recognize BLOG as a word. How weird is that!!?? Blog is a pretty dumb word I guess.
